Phoenix in Action will complete in 2050, I’ll buy it then.

(Sorry @geo, take it as a joke!)

A little bit more readable. These books are on sale today for 50% off with code DOTD091518:

Fair enough. I hope you enjoy it when it is finally complete! It’s been quite the journey.

Any reason why someone would buy “Phoenix in Action” when there is “Programming Phoenix 1.4”?

Different authors present material differently, i.e. tend to provide a different perspective that may be suited to a different type of reader and also some form of repetition can be helpful in the learning process.

There is a sample chapter and an obfuscated liveview version.

The nature of the sample application should make it more Ecto-heavy (and considering the nature of the author’s blog posts and talks; though there is always Programming Ecto for more in depth study).

When is Phoenix in Action going to be completed? I think the 12th chapter Building an API is the most important one.
@geo

Edit: I think the whole Part-3 is important. Building an API, getting the real time updates, etc.

When is Phoenix in Action going to be completed?

I completed the drafts of the chapters a few weeks ago and have been busy with revisions over the past few weeks. We are hoping to have it go to the production department on Friday.
