Hmm, if it doesn’t ensure same version and build of that compiler then it won’t be able to compile idempotently, I wonder how it would check that, hashing the entire local compiler, tools, and includes?
How about a JavaScript/TypeScript interface in top of Nix? That seems like a fun project.
