Sprout (formerly SMR Worldwide) was founded in 2014 and is still growing rapidly. We’ve developed our own software platform that runs our client portal, logistics and warehouse operations to solve unique challenges of our business model and maximize the return our clients get on end of life technology. Our application is a Phoenix JSON API with a Vue.js front-end. We have a PostgresSQL back-end and are currently hosted on Heroku.

Job title: Senior Software Engineer
This position will be responsible for designing, developing and testing new features and functionality that will help us streamline operations, integrate our systems, improve our customer experience and support new business opportunities. We’re looking for someone who is comfortable with taking a high-level problem statement and delivering a complete solution in a fast-paced environment.
Salary range: 110-125K
Position on remote work: 100% Remote is fine, can also work in our Charlotte office. (Some of us work 2-3 days a week in Office).
Qualifications or experience required:
Minimum 5 years of experience developing full-stack web applications, ideally using Elixir and Phoenix but we’re also open to Elixir enthusiasts with significant experience in similar frameworks such as Ruby on Rails, Django or Play. We also highly value experience in component-based front-end application frameworks such as React, Vue or Angular.

What the successful job applicant will be working on:
We have a long backlog of requested features to improve the quality of the data we capture, the efficiency of our operations and back-office staff and the experience our clients have interacting with us through the website and throughout the disposition process. Example projects include integrating new client asset management systems, streamlining the logistics and order in-take process, integrating eCommerce channels etc.
About the interview process
We’ll do short initial call to discuss the company, role and candidate background, answer questions and assess interest on both sides. If it makes sense we’ll schedule a half day for the candidate to work on a technical exercise either remotely or with us in our Charlotte office (if you plan to work 100% remote you will not have to come on-site for an interview but we would like you to come out for a facility tour after hire). We’ll use this time to get to know each other a bit more and assess technical capability. Afterward we’ll review the work produced, discuss internally and get back to the candidate within 48 hours.
