I learnt a lot from this book when i was at college - Code Complete, 2nd Edition [Book]

I don’t know how much code/content of Code Complete is relevant now - I am sure most of the principles will be. It has examples of c++/java/visual basic.

I strongly recommend Refactoring by Martin Fowler. Don’t be misled by the title, it’s an amazing programming book and very easy to read.

There are editions for Java and JavaScript. Pick your poison. :smiley:
