Having used RDS and Aurora for years, I’m very comfortable with how easy both make hard things over the lifetime of the DB. Particularly Aurora, which is incredible.
I’ve heard conflicting anecdotal stories on Aurora so I don’t know.
I haven’t used PG Aurora, but the MySQL project that we moved to Aurora was incredible. Faster, lowered costs, didn’t need a failover replica anymore and took my time monitoring for DB issues each month from about 10 hours to < 15 minutes.
