I use qwerty and I’m learning to proper touch type. I took the new keyboard as an opportunity to learn proper form so at the moment I’m still a bit slow but getting there
Tomorrow I’ll post a pic of my layout although it is still not final.
Pros:
I love that I can program it and I love layers it is such a smart things it is weird that not all keyboards are like it even the gaming ones.
The split is so much better even than my sculpt for the wrist I can’t go back to a normal one if not for gaming, I get pains immediately.
The thumbs clusters are just amazing I love them so much.
I have dedicated keys for parenthesis and other characters I use often.
Auto shift is awesome, I never use the shift key anymore. Although I wish I could enable or disable it on the fly to type a charachter multiple times quicky ("/”) or use other keys that are not the arrows for navigating ( camera controls, games). It would also be awesome if you could have a auto layer switch rather than just shift.
The sculpted keys are amazing, and so is the orthilinear setup.
Could be seen as a con but if you just position one hand wrong all your typing is going out of the window, to me it is a pro as it forces me to learn form.
Cons:
Takes time to get used to typing on it. You might be very very slow at the beginning, I felt like a toddler the first day and it was very frustrating.
I have the cherry blu silent and love the quite but sometimes I miss the feedback.
Old habits die hard I have some muscle memory mistakes in me that are frustrating.
Sometimes I need to unplug it and replug it in as it isn’t detected, sometimes half of it isn’t, but I do use Linux and a dock so might not be the keyboards fault.
The middle cable is too long and annoying for me I’ll look into substituting it.
The connecting cable is mini usb it feels old.
The cable feel cheap but I guess you can substitute them.
All in all most defects are either my fault or minor nitpicks I’d say
If I can think of more I’ll update the post.
Overall I love it though
