Seems like there are bugs:
When I open link the sidebar is opened and without the arrow button. Only when I query the close/open arrow appears.
IMO it should be closed default, opens when you query, closes when you select.
Otherwise, great job!

this is easy, but i assume you meant something else?
do you mean when you go to https://hexdocs.krister.ee/ initially there’s no arrow? there’s also no menu behind it, so doesn’t make a difference.
i’m not sure if that would be good or bad UX. sometimes i want to click through search results, but it’s true that often i hide the menu right after to see the other options. i feel like the extra click is not as annoying as the menu flying in and out without control. anything else to add to this idea?
may i ask - why would you use this on mobile? that has never occured to me as i code on the computer. i assume you do too?
Because I am not always coding perse. Sometimes I am just thinking: “hmmm, that problem of today could maybe solved by…” or in case of Advent of Code: “he uses something I don’t know, lets look it up.”
Wait, are you trying to tell me that all the other people drinking alone at the bar staring at their phones aren’t also reading hexdocs??
For real, though, I learned a lot about Elixir on my phone while alone at my local after work 
People may not use your product on mobile, but they are likely to discover it from mobile.
I use elixirforum a lot from my phone and stumbled upon your site from this post. When I saw the sidebar open and empty on half my screen, I thought the site was temporarily broken

Yes, when searching for liveview hooks this page JavaScript interoperability — Phoenix LiveView v1.2.5 should semantically rank higher (or at least similar) as the lifecycle hooks

yeah, i’ve had that specific problem myself. i don’t do any content parsing atm. not sure what the best approach is for that considering getting into ML and search servers would take way too much time.
I just tried this out and one thing I’ve noticed is that searching for hooks instead of hook doesn’t return that result.
I quickly typed hooks and never saw the backend hooks. So I’m wondering if some sort of distance function might be useful. (the different amount of results from hook vs hooks is quite big)

I wonder how well would a out of the box postgres text search would fare with full documentation, I’ve used it once on a project but never with so much text.
