Apologies for the post necromancy, but I think it is worthwhile to put this here

My team is very pleased with our experience using Gigalixir for an MVP – it has been easy to scale up/down, billing is straightforward, configuration has all worked as documented, and migrations/app upgrades are super easy. As far as PaaS go, Gigalixir absolutely delivers the simplicity and performance it promises.

Thank you for providing this tool @jesse , it has been a joy to work with!

Planning our infra post-MVP, we unfortunately have to move production away from Gigalixir, but will likely keep using it for staging and for service MVPs. Our reasons:

Regions

We have a user base in APAC, but Gigalixir currently only offers EU and NA regions. Unfortunately, in order to achieve enough revenue to justify Gigalixir expanding its offering to Asia for us, we will already have to be serving our APAC users an optimal experience (a cart/horse problem).

Support

For prod, we’d feel a lot more secure if our app had 24-hour support with redundancy (even if it was a ticketing system jerry-rigged to AWS/GCP/etc’s ticketing systems). Jesse’s direct support via e-mail has been robust, however this feels like a single point of failure.

Looking forward to seeing how Gigalixir continues to grow! Cheers!
