Official support for DaisyUI or Tailwind is a pure Phoenix Core Team decision - it’s their generators, so they should decide how a default Phoenix app should behave. That’s said since --no-tailwind option is supported I’m looking forward for a solution like the one I described.
Also look that after compilation of scss files, that I have suggested, you would have a single vanilla app.css file that you can use in your own generators very easily. I found myself dart_sass too useful to go with vanilla, but my proposal should be flexible enough I guess. It does not even require igniter to make vanilla CSS work easily for you.
