								<p>Yeah, I used to do a lot more rebasing during development exactly as described. After interactive staging and <code>--patch</code> was made available to all the index/worktree-touching commands, I kinda slowly organically shifted to this. Still use rebasing for branch/repo admin but barely ever for dev.</p>
<p>In practice I only really have a few recent “hot” commits in the recent history for any branch, you’ll notice most of my aliases are based around peeking into/massaging hunks on the top of the stack. This sorta hunk-juggling lets me move fast and live messily but still makes it easy to clean up as I go without a full interactive rebase, it’s just more intuitive to me.</p>

								<p>That seems like a nice feature!  For me I have so few aliases that I usually remember what they do… or they or what they are aliasing are so long that would drive me nuts (though I assume it doesn’t do that for functions so maybe I’d be fine).</p>
