								<p><em><strong>not</strong> an expert here</em>. My approach here would be to at least move this to the supervision tree by using <code>Task</code> module (<a href="https://hexdocs.pm/elixir/Task.html#module-statically-supervised-tasks" rel="noopener nofollow ugc">Task hexdocs</a>) and appending it right after the registration of DB process.</p>
<p>Extra step could be to make another Supervisor, that would wrap/manage both DB and this one-time seed Task processes, so that (as mentioned by NobbZ) when the DB fails, the new DB respawns and the intermediate DB-supervisor (with <code>strategy: :rest_for_one</code> <a href="https://hexdocs.pm/elixir/1.12/Supervisor.html#module-strategies" rel="noopener nofollow ugc">Supervisor strategies</a>) could start the seed Task after DB successfully respawns.</p>
<p>But that might not be, how it should be done.. Just saying, how I would approach this and leverage OTP supervision trees.</p>

<p><code>Task</code> makes it simple to add to the supervision tree as a child, but has a footgun. The task is started in order, but runs its callback async. So other children can start up before the task finishes, which in a lot of cases I’ve seen people use that approach is actually not what you’d want.</p>

								<p>Oh, I see, that will pose inconsistencies. So a workaround could be to (ab)use a <code>GenServer</code> instead of <code>Task</code>. The <code>GenServer.init(arg)</code> callback should be waited by <code>Supervisor</code> when starting children to complete and then the <code>GenServer</code> would return <code>:ignore</code> form <code>init</code>… The <code>:ignore</code> shouldn’t cripple the Supervision restart policy if I understand docs correctly…</p>
