I bought (and use!) one of those walking pads they sell for standing desks. I can’t stand (or walk) and program but I sure can walk while I’m watching over the agents. It’s not a serious workout or anything but it’s more than doubled my steps/day this year which seems like a trend in the right direction.

Absolutely great question @DaAnalyst !
My pace in feature delivery grew extremely with Tidewave and Claude Max.
That’s not only because of Claude, but also because I now have a lot of time for thinking about architecture, features, legal requirements, optimizations, better UX and all that… all what got always a bit lost by having my brain in writing code (this have been hard times - though I liked it it now seems like a complete waste of time…).
While waiting for Claude doing things, I get so many new ideas what’s next, also I do e2e testing and edge cases in conceptual and UI things that are hard to automate… its more “Reflection Testing” - so more on testing the business concepts and if they work and feel good.
Also this question reminds me a bit of the question to Pilots: “What do you actually do on this long flight… The autopilot is doing all flying for you !?“ - that’s right. Automation takes over. But you are - and have to be - constantly aware of all parameters. You double check the system if it behaves correctly. You basically master-monitor the system if it operates correctly. Also you are still the Mastermind of the direction and purpose. Actually as a pilot on a 2 or 3 hours flight you don’t have much chill-time. You are constantly concentrated and “on-it” even when the autopilot has taken over and reduces load and gives you time for important security measures. You still have the duty to “be always ahead of the aircraft". And that’s also what I do when developing with Tidewave and Claude: I “fly” that thing… highly concentrated….
(okay not totally true … often I just walk away for making coffee, baking bread and do all the fun stuff in life - or writing this answer here… )

Push-ups (or sit-ups or pull-ups) during personal projects.
At work I usually switch context to monitoring dashboards or performing query optimizations/clean up tasks. I plan my LLM heavy days to have concurrent tasks. Or you know, just more push-ups.
