Ah that’s awesome - thank you for sharing (and supporting Bart)!

I’ll be curious to see the finished product when it’s up as I’ve thought about doing something similar for keeping track of my own workouts. Currently I have a folder with a file for each day (Mon-Fri) and one for videos, and I open it as a project in a text editor.

The days have my exercises with columns for:

Week Number - Weight - Reps - Notes

It’s just to keep track of progressive overload, but could make a nice app with cool graphs/stats etc. Ideally it would output or keep a set of plain text files too. I have found over the years I much prefer plain text (even if just as a back up) as that is always portable and not subject to OS/vendor-lock-in. I wish more apps offered this. Good luck with your project - keep us posted on how you get on!

OK, so I want to avoid going down the rabbit hole, but once you get into this it gets complicated fast hehe What I mean specifically for in general for exercise it would be ideal to get physiological markers to track load, but then there is load specific for muscle groups - which is very relevant for weight lifting and functional training.

…to add to the complexity it makes a huge difference variations within a single exercise e.g. traditional squat vs squat w/ Zercher grip vs squat w/ Zercher grip + wedge underneath feet vs …
Then layer on top of that the sequence of the repetitions and the weight target… all of a sudden when you factor all of this in you can get to a point where every day you are doing squats with very different variations and not overloading hahaha (I’m obviously not suggesting this, rather just using it as an extreme example of how complicated the point of load becomes).

With aerobic exercises it might (I’m still trying to make a definition for myself based on physiological inputs - like HR variability, body temperature, etc…) be a bit easier… maybe…

Anyways this is a fascinating topic for me and the more I get into it the more I enjoy it. Once I have something I will be more than happy to share and get your feedback (or anyone else that may be interested).
