The recent Claudes are quite “proficient” at that, but this was human synthesis of what I’ve had in the last weeks. Tractable beachhead really bugged me, as a non-native English speaker… then I learned that a beachhead is a military reinforced position on an enemy beach, and that it meant “a first good point of entry”. Being tractable was an evaluation of its certainty I guess? By ratchet, I think it means “a way forward”, like the mechanical component can only turn in one direction …
I don’t know if model collapse, specific corpuses, or RLHF caused that, but it seems to only grow stronger. It permeates github and forum discussions too.
