Coding Gnome Elixir for Programmers course site triggers antivirus

Not sure this is the best forum for this question, but for the last couple of weeks I’ve been going through Dave’s Elixir for Programmers course just fine. Today I was going to continue the course and out of nowhere my antivirus started warning me about blocking a connection to the site due to a suspicious file (image included). I’m using Avast, which I’m considering switching away from, but I thought I’d ask: is anybody having this issue today? I’m definitely leaning towards it being a false positive, but I figure I’d double check because it’s very strange that I’ve been visiting the site and going through the videos for about 3 weeks and today I got this all of a sudden.

It’s probably fine.
A quick google reveals this is common enough with Avast on harmless sites.
One source suggests it happens after “a set number of accesses”, which fits your scenario (clicking through links on same domain).
Another source says the “SUSP” part means “we are not sure if this is actually an issue”.
Disclaimer: I am not an expert at all.
But I would accept the low end of a 1:20 wager that it is a “false positive”.

Thank you. I google searched a bit and that’s why I am leaning towards it being a false positive. Didn’t know about “set number of accesses” part though. Interesting… I guess I posted here just in case. I know the course is legit and they wouldn’t put anything malicious on their site, but people’s sites get hacked so I figured I’d double check.

edit: fwiw after restarting my computer the issue is no longer happening :man_shrugging:
