We are looking for a German speaking software engineer of any level who either already knows Elixir or is willing to learn Elixir. We have a hard requirement of at least decent German skills due to the domain that we are writing software for. As heavy users of Domain Driven Design we’ve actually written all of our code in German too.

Job title: Software Engineer (Elixir)
Job description: As a member of the Finance Operations Technology (FinOpsTech) team your mission is to ensure that thousands of students receive their pay on time. You participate in refinements of features and concepts, implement and document them, support our stakeholders and ensure that our systems operating smoothly. We try to mostly work in an ensemble (mob programming) and meet once a week in our head quarters to strengthen social bonds and meet our stakeholders.
Salary range: EUR 45k-90k
Position on remote work: Hybrid model (world-wide), at least 1 day onsite per week in Cologne.
Qualifications or experience required: Good command of the German language (Level B2/C1/C2/native). Either work experience of 2 years+ as a Software Engineer with any programming language OR bachelor’s degree or higher in compute science or another related field.
What the successful job applicant will be working on:
An in-house preparatory payroll solution tailored to our business needs and its integration to other systems.
