Actually the latest webpack2 versions (still in dev and not released) have stated to have made substantial strides in speed, I’ll be keeping an eye out on it soon.
Also I don’t use brunch, I just use npm scripts directly since we have to have npm anyway, no point adding more stuff on top of that of which it can already do. ^.^
