Company info and history (how you’re using Elixir etc): Elixir powers our relationship marketing platform with help from Phoenix/Ecto/Liveview. Oban Pro assists with delivering hundreds of thousands of gifts per month. Postgres 14 is used as our data-store and our application is built into docker containers for deployment. Our local development environment utilizes docker compose to spin up a new environment automatically.

What the successful job applicant will be working on:
Your first few months will include:
Building new tooling for our customer support and gift curation teams, refactoring legacy Elixir modules to improve maintainability/code-reuse/unit test coverage, bug hunting and fixing.
Ideal Candidates:
Ideal candidates will have been in the tech industry for 2 years or more and passionate about Elixir and its ecosystem. Candidates that have worked in early-stage SaaS startups will be strongly considered. They should be able to take direction well and then self-manage from there, seeking help when necessary. Situational awareness, the ability to assess, hypothesize, diagnose solutions are essential in this position. They will report directly to the Director of Engineering.

Requirements:
Eager to be part of a cohesive, productive, playful team of engineers
Minimum 1+ years of Elixir programming experience in a professional setting
Experience with Phoenix and Ecto, we use PostgreSQL 14 as our data store
Excitement to learn and use LiveView and TailwindCSS
Desire to grow your skill set and expand your role as the company grows

Open to collaborate with team members and be coachable
Job Responsibilities:
As a full stack developer for a marketing-tech startup, you must be comfortable with the ever-evolving needs of the company.
Maintain and improve current platform code base
Add new features as needed
Add CRM integrations as new clients are sold
Debug issues with platform stability
Clearly and regularly communicate with coworkers, product stakeholders and management
Responsible for well tested Elixir code (unit testing along with manual verification of functionality)
Writing documentation
Self-manage working time, balance urgency/work velocity with clean, well-crafted code
