The Gnome Foundation recently announced the Community Engagement Challenge, in which people are supposed to come up with proposals for ways in which we can increase participation in open-source across the board and bring in new contributors from populations that have so far not been frequently, well, contributing.
You can win up to $21,000 (United States Dollars) for the first place winner, and there are money prizes for those who don’t make it as far.
It will have three phases:
- Idea: Written proposal with entry description and team background
- Proof of Concept: Basic prototype to demonstrate feasibility
- Sample Product: Deliverable end product demonstrating program goals
If you want to learn more about it, then you should head over to https://www.gnome.org/challenge/.
Now, what sort of ways would you envision using elixir to do something in the challenge?
