Are you ready for a green-field project? Are you tired of big, heavy SDLC processes that stifle your creativeness? As a Lead Software Engineer on our Platform team, you’ll be instrumental in building Convo Communication’s next-generation software that enables conversations between the hearing and the deaf/hard of hearing. You will lead the development effort through our extremely light, extremely collaborative SDLC for creating a new cloud-native platform for call handling, call routing, signaling, and transport of audio and video data.

Job title: Lead Software Engineer (Platform Team)
Job description: Work with leadership, the Cloud Software Architect, the Cloud Infrastructure Architect, and the Product Manager to establish best practices for cloud-native software solutions. Lead a small team of Software Engineers to develop APIs and back-end solutions that support audio and video communications, mentor junior developers, create and assign subtask work items. Own the development process from solution design, development, and deployment with an ‘automated tests first’ mindset. Work with the SDET and QA team to ensure automated testing is added to the CI/CD pipeline. Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines for each software artifact.
Salary range: Negotiable
Position on remote work: Remote (US only) /Hybrid/In-person, it doesn’t matter
Qualifications or experience required: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Programming, Software Engineering, or another closely related degree. Previous team lead experience. Previous experience with creating and maintaining publicly facing APIs. Previous experience with creating and maintaining CI/CD pipelines. Previous experience with Elixir or Erlang is preferred. Previous experience with Telecom, SIP or WebRTC is preferred. Fluency in ASL is preferred.
