Hello everyone!
As many of you will have seen the forum and our community continues to grow and go from strength to strength, and so we’re at the stage now where it’s time to expand our mod team - by introducing a new Section Moderator team.
Unlike Global Moderators, Section Moderators focus on specific sections, so people who don’t have time to watch over the entire forum can help out if they want to 
Mods usually have two main responsibilities, to help the community (by being friendly, welcoming, helpful, etc) and to help the forum (moving threads to appropriate sections, renaming thread titles if required, removing spam, etc) though it’s also ok for mods to focus more on one or the other, meaning some might contribute more visibly, while others may be hard at work behind the scenes, both add tremendous value to the community.
There’s one more crucial thing mods do, and that’s help set a good example, one that echoes our ethos of being thoughtful, kind and understanding, which helps maintain the level of decorum you have all come to expect here.
With all of the above in mind, if you think someone would make a great addition to the team please pm @AstonJ with your nomination/s! When nominating someone please say why you are nominating them (and if possible please include links to any posts you feel stand out).
Some things to consider when nominating someone:
- The person meets the criteria mentioned above.
- The person has been an active member for a while (and logs on at least several times a week).
- The person has, when required, taken part in discussions sensitively and in a way that’s helped move the discussion forward toward a productive or constructive outcome.
- The person hasn’t contributed towards threads needing to be locked/moderated or have had to be moderated themselves for an infraction.
In other words, somebody who helps reflect the best of our community
