Senior Backend Engineer (Elixir) - Stealth Startup - UK (London 1 day pw, ideally)

Hey, I’m Chris, I’m the co-founder of a well funded (raised pre-seed from a tier 1 VC and some very impressive angels) building a consumer AI app. We’re in stealth, but I’m happy to go into more details if you’re interested and fit our profile.

About us

My name: Chris Bull
My position: CTO/Co-founder
Company name: Stealth
Company website: not yet.
Company headquarters (country): UK
Company info and history: See above. Elixir will be the foundation of our backend due to its suitability for writing services with lots of async tasks running (think, LLM calls). GCP hosting. PG and all the datastores (kidding, but there will be graphs and vectors.)

About the job

Job title: Senior Backend Engineer.
Job description: We’re looking for our first backend dev hire. You’ll have had a lot of experience working across the stack. You’ve got some scars. You’ve seen things blow up. You’ve got low tolerance for bs and novelty.
Salary range: Willing to pay well + generous equity for the right person
Qualifications or experience required: On top of a solid career (so far!), ideally at least a couple of years experience in a role with Elixir/Erlang.
What the successful job applicant will be working on: BE engineer #1! All the things!

Position on remote work

Remote job: Only UK, and even then ideally somewhat proximate to London (we’re hoping to get everyone together 1 day pw)

About the interview process

Phone screen, then a pairing exercise, then meet the team. Nothing too strenuous - I’m not looking for spec work.

Further info
DM me on here and we go from there! We’re actively building now (I’m doing the BE currently, we’ve hired a mobile dev).

We’ve got a solid founding team with relevant experience in the niche we’re going after, really strong investors and are moving quickly. We’ve recently hired an exceptional Chief Design Officer. If you like building good software, want to work with AI and want to have some fun, please reach out.
