About the interview process

Throughout this process, you’ll have both asynchronous and real-time conversations with us utilizing tools that we use every day such as:

Conversations via Zoom - meet the team for each stage “in person” on video calls.

Access to a private Slack channel - chat directly with the founders to ask any questions you may have after having passed the 1st interview round.

Here’s a breakdown of our recruitment process:

1. Getting to know each other: You’ll spend some time chatting with us over Zoom to learn more about the company and the opportunity. (~30 minutes)

2. Skill assessment: You’ll complete a technical interview with one of our lead engineers to help us learn more about your skills and strategic thinking. (~1-2 hour)

3. Coding test: We’ll provide you with a small test project or coding test that you complete on your own time (~3 hours)

4. Personal conversation: We would like to get to know you better. This conversation will be with our CPO (Benjamin). (~1.5 hours)

6. Meet the team: You’ll get to meet the other founders (Daniel & Jan). We value team fit over everything else. (~30 minutes)

6. Hiring decision/offer: We are mindful of your time. Going through all stages can be done within one week. Once you’ve passed them all and we are both happy you will receive a formal offer.

7. Final conversation (we would like to hire you): We are going to chat about any concerns you might have, on-boarding as well as any other details to get you started. (~1 hour)

I am not interested in the role, but I am curious why only 15 days? More bank holidays? Is this 15 days a standard in US?

In Europe is usual to have at least 20/21/22 days plus bank holidays. For example I have 34 days including bank holidays(9 in total).

29 days in Germany. Not counting public holidays.

Wow, 29 days :grinning:

How many bank holidays there?

Sorry was a typo. It’s supposed to be 25 days. Editing it now.

This year a lot fall on weekends, so only 5 on working days this year. Next year it’s 7. Also it depends where exactly you live. In Bavaria it’s always more. I live where it’s almost the lowest public holidays in Germany :frowning:

In France, it’s usually about 35 days + 7 to 10 public holidays
This job offer looks like a great position!

Woah, or did you mean 25 + 7 to 10

Definitely yes

In India (at my current job) we get 36 leaves and 11 fixed holidays.

In France, you don’t work more than 218 days a year. So for 2021 it is:

  • (104 week-end days)
  • 25 legal days
  • 7 public holidays (changes each year because of public holidays during weekends)
  • 11 days of compensatory time (RTT in french) to bridge the gap

Which gives you a total of 36 days + 7 public holidays in 2021

So, I should have moved to France instead of UK :frowning:

RTT is to compensate working more than 35 hours a week. So it’s true for many of us but most people work 35 hours a week and thus have only 25 legal holidays.
