Lunar is a stealth technology company building a new type of software system for hospitals. Our stack is Elixir, Ecto, psql and Absinthe on the back end. We use React and Apollo JS on the front end. Our product covers multiple verticals in the hospital and is an excellent use case for Elixir’s concurrency and reliability. We have recently launched in production and are entering an exciting scaling phase. We are a small and effective team. We are looking for senior full stack engineers to take on a large area of product responsibility and help grow the company.

Over the next 6 months, here are some things you might work on:

  • Drive the cloud transformation and revolution for hospitals.
  • Flex your productivity across a wide range of projects with substantial product surface area including search, clinical documentation, chat, analytics, and more.
  • Engineer solutions for user-centric workflows within incredibly complex systems.
  • Apply state of the art technology advancements and best practices to the lagging healthcare industry.
  • Visit our hospital partner sites to work with end users and hospital executives.
  • Build tools to help doctors and nurses safely administer medications.

  • Thrive in a smaller team environment where you can ideate, implement, and champion best practices.
  • Exhibit trustworthiness and the ability to make informed decisions, discuss trade-offs, and understand diverse use cases.
  • Leveraging and applying your extensive computer science and product engineering expertise, you will focus on the most critical features and products for Lunar. You will use cutting edge technology to solve problems such as web-scale servers/clients, code-generation, devops and production environments, and more.
  • Embrace a culture of open-source technology adoption and be prepared to push boundaries by enhancing and forking open-source projects to pioneer new solutions.

Your Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • Minimum of 10 years of professional software engineering experience.
  • Proficiency with object oriented and functional programming, with the ability and willingness to use and adopt new technologies. We use tools such as Phoenix, Elixir, Python, Erlang, Javascript, Node.js and more.
  • Strong ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative, and innovative team environment.
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills, with a track record of tackling challenging engineering problems.
  • Intellectually curious with a growth mindset - able to tackle entirely novel challenges that lack prior precedent through applying strong fundamentals and first principles thinking.
  • Familiarity with open-source technology and a desire to explore and experiment with new solutions.
  • Experience building 0-1 with a strong product sense.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to articulate technical decisions, trade-offs, and best practices.
  • A passion for making a meaningful impact in the healthcare industry through software innovation is a plus.
