Job title: Senior/Staff Software Engineer
Job description: We’re seeking a full-stack senior engineer who can also product design. You’ll research, design, architect, and implement product features for our GenAI-powered system. You’ll help build and scale high-performing engineering teams while owning our CI/CD infrastructure—balancing speed, reliability, and developer productivity. You’ll also manage and communicate timelines
Salary range: $175-220k
Qualifications or experience required:

  • Professional experience with Phoenix LiveView/Elixir (productive from day 1)

  • 2+ years in a staff/senior position

  • 5+ years of professional software engineering experience

  • Deep experience with LLMs, RAGs, vector DBs, evals (not just API usage)

  • Background as a full-stack product engineer with startup experience

  • Experience taking an MVP codebase from 0 to 1 and beyond

  • Ability to design and build intuitive UXs (small items independently, complex ones with our product designer)

  • Will actively seek out users for product feedback

  • Curious, self-motivated, and relentless in self-improvement

  • Willing to spend 2 weeks per quarter in-person with our customers

What the successful job applicant will be working on: Building GenAI-powered features for government tax administration systems, scaling our engineering team and CI/CD infrastructure, designing intuitive user experiences, and working directly with government customers to understand their workflows and iterate on solutions

Remote job: partially/negotiable
Remote restrictions: USA only (hybrid preferred in San Francisco)
Remote leeway: Yes - we will consider full remote within the US for exceptional candidates who meet all requirements
