Spacemacs: Can't type T in *Alchemist-IEx*

Spacemacs: Can't type T in *Alchemist-IEx*

I changed the spacemacs mode from evil to emacs. When I run IEx from spacemacs I find I can’t type the word “MathTest”. As soon as I do Shift-T the minibuffer pops up and grabs the keystroke. I can type fine in the file buffer.

How can I fix this?
