Answered on Devtalk, but it just means you need to select a sub-category
I already started liking it. Now we can discuss everything from PHP’s Smarty to actor model’s implementation in Rust’s Actix.
Thanks for making this forum can’t wait to meet more in the Elixir community.
Just a quick update to say Devtalk is now a year old
In the last 12 months we served over 4M pages (many of you might remember that here on the Elixir Forum we served 1M in our first year) and the great thing about this is that Elixir and Erlang are both prominent languages there… not just in number of threads, but the number of users who have listed they use or are interested in them. This means that when new people come on to the forum and find an interesting thread, they may well click on a user’s profile and see Elixir/Erlang mentioned Although it might seem like a tiny thing, things like this can help portray (and thus encourage) popularity. Definitely a welcomed, if unexpected, benefit! (We’d originally thought exposure would come primarily from Elixir related threads.)
The main reason I am posting here however is because one of our objectives on Devtalk is to help our users be the best devs they can be - and many of you will no doubt know this is often through continual learning. To help us achieve this objective our next area of focus includes our learning initiatives, and in particular, book clubs. We’ll be running a number of these over the course of the year so if any of you are interested in one for an Elixir book please PM me to let me know - we have allocated a chunk of resources for this and have a number of copies to give away (if you have a friend that you’d think would like to join you - let them know too!) We’ll be rolling out invitations to other language related communities at some point but I wanted to post here first
The full announcement can be found here: Devtalk's first birthday update! - Announcements - Devtalk
I think that covers this update and so will end by thanking everyone who has joined and helped promote Elixir/Erlang there and helped make Devtalk what it is today, and if you’re not a member yet but have been looking for somewhere to talk about other languages and general dev topics, why not sign up - you’ll be in great company and we’d love to see you there!
