Nerves Core Team

What are your go-to things you add to a Nerves project?

Nerves comes with a lot of the most important stuff. But I bet there are things people add and consider mandatory that others might not have even thought of.

Disqualified:

  • nerves_hub_link
  • nerves_key
  • nerves_hub_cli (doesn’t even ship on device)

My personal candidates:

  • alarmist - A non-default Alarm Handler that does more useful things with alarms. Alarms are cool. The default alarm handler is not intended to be cool.
  • mobius - Have not used yet but want to explore. I think it is mostly unmaintained right now but it seems so incredibly cool and useful. I know Frank has talked about trying it but I don’t recall how it ended up not sticking around.
  • entrace - My own thing. But if your prefer redbug, recon, extrace or something else doesn’t bother me. I just think Erlang tracing is awesome but nearly impossible to remember to use and how to use and I think one needs a library that makes it easier. This one is made to my tastes obviously. I would love to try integrating a tracing tool in NervesHub at some point.

Curious to hear what people are using
