When to use Mnesia? Why aren't more using it?

I’m curious why more isn’t made of Erlang’s native db. Is it not sufficient to replace Postgres or is it just bc it is based in Erlang and there isn’t great support for it in Elixir yet?

Also curious if anyone knows about performance gains of one over the other.
