Ha, for those of us who have the privilege to weather unemployment for a bit, this is accurate.
Remember “tokenmaxxing?” The AI companies said, “The best possible thing you could do right now is compete with each other to see who can pay us the most money. The sky’s the limit!” and a bunch of seemingly intelligent technologists responded, “Duh, ok!”
The world was well hecked up before LLMs came along, but something just feels really off to me right now, and I don’t see how it can last. So I’m totally Spongebob (ok fine, Patrick) here, and I oddly feel very hopeful.
