Where should one start for Creating a Telecommunication Software like Asterisk / Free PBX from scratch?
I’m planning to learn somethings from scratch with regards to SIP and do some experimentation for creating telecom stack like Asterisk. I searched in the internet and found very limited help with resource articles about the basics of it. I’m confused and if someone can help me navigate through the right set of track like where to start, it’ll be really helpful.
It is just for learning purpose and pure joy of understanding some things from the ground up.

If you want to implement your own SIP server, a good place to start would be reading the RFCs – main one is RFC 3261 - SIP: Session Initiation Protocol, but there’s a whole bunch of addendums and updates, as you can see at the top of that page.
SIP is a beast, though, so doing anything useful with it will be a lot of work.
