Posting this more for general discussion, but does anybody have a need for a stock CMS anymore?
I’ve built 3 different sites using Elixir, Phoenix, Ash, and LiveView with AI Agents and for every one of them I’ve simply defined the data that I needed and then asked the AI to generate an admin backend for me. It’s exactly what is needed, tailored to my data with no abstractions to work around.
Is there still a benefit to the stock CMS approach?

I personally don’t think there is - at least if you know programming anyway. I have felt this way ever since I got into Rails, because frameworks like Rails and Phoenix make it easy to build a custom site that you might have built with a CMS and with very little effort.

I think it mostly depends on how you look at a CMS. Personally, I’d rather use a tool with rich customization options and consistent updates than rebuild everything from scratch every time. When building something yourself, you often focus only on the minimum requirements, but sometimes you need to consider other perspectives and follow a proven approach and structure. A customizable CMS that lets you easily add plugins can be a great starting point for new ideas. I’d encourage you to give my new open-source project a chance!
