Junior Full Stack Developer (Elixir, Phoenix, React) - Ireland
Introductory paragraph
I’ll be looking for a keen junior or someone that has a couple of years experience in the real world (so you’ve been through and know the pain!) to join the dev department of an Irish and EU based company - large IT dept and dev teams in various enterprise areas.
This would sit alongside our Java team and you’d be infinitely more cooler than those ![]()
Lots of backend/front end crossover so you’d need not to feint if you had to touch some raw Typescript/Remix/A.N.Other type front end work.
About us
My name: Peter Ferriby
My position: Senior Architect
Company name: DPD
Company website: https://www.dpd.ie
Company headquarters (country): Ireland
Company info and history: DPD are Ireland’s leading courier company and use various tools and technologies to provide internal and customer facing systems that process an ever growing amout of data.
About the job
Job title: Junior Full Stack Developer
Job description: We are looking for that cross over person who has a good set of crayons for the front end side and is also Mr Logic for the backend work. We know you are out there, somewhere!
You would be providing support and features to some of our exiting applications (public and internal) and also given the opportunity to develop shiny new systems. Hopefully this is an ideal position for those keen and with a genuine interest in the technology and industry. You’ll get to work with Postgres, Ash, Phoenix in the Elixir world as well as connecting to all manner of legacy systems.
Salary range: Will be dependant on experience as this would be a junior position (or that first step up from a keen junior)
Qualifications or experience required: Ideally you’ve heard of Elixir and have real world exposure to some Javascript/Typescript/Front end tools. Passion is more important than numbers on a CV though. Claude will fill in the missing bits (I’m sure…)
What the successful job applicant will be working on: Internal and external systems, linking legacy systems with new ways of thinking. Crafting the most graceful systems people can be proud of and using the latest tools and technologies to acheive more by doing less.
Position on remote work
Remote job: Partially - a few of the systems relate to physical things you can see and touch and they would be onsite. Devs, if local, typically spend 1 day a week in the office.
Remote restrictions: Ireland based
Remote leeway: Unfortunately not - some work may involve hardware systems that are only available on site.
About the interview process
Initially a chat about who you are (and who we are) and what you do (and what we do). Then either an in person or remote meeting with other team members as well as a tech test or talk (your chance to impress)
Further info
We dont bite.
