In this short post I argue that the current generation of developers is likely a historical anomaly and that our positive experience with AI doesn’t matter as much as we might think.

All fair points I think.
Our experience today with AI however does decide how it will evolve next. So we might historic anomalies, but likely also quite important in pointing AI and ourselves in the right direction for the future.
I have no doubt that in 100 years this will all look very primitive and that many of our current discussions will seem both strange and irrelevant. But I also think that setting the direction and culture around AI will still be influcing for better and or worse in 100 years time, and thus important.
Yeah totally agree, we had the privilege to produce code that became the dataset and now we have a duty to shape norms, etiquette and regulations around AI. That’s why I think “AI just makes me more productive” position won’t fly. It doesn’t matter what AI does to you, we have to think about what AI does to us.
