Code BEAM Europe 2026 - tutorials & keynotes

Hi Everyone! Here’s what’s waiting for you this year at Code BEAM Europe 2026.

3 TUTORIALS

October 20, 2026, 9:00-17:00 CEST

:one: Match the BEA(M)T: Real-Time Generative Music with Elixir

Tutor: Luca Dei Zotti

  • Build a real-time generative music system, combining pattern matching, BEAM processes, and supervision trees with an external audio engine (OSC → Sonic Pi)
  • Laptop with Docker/VirtualBox and headphones required
  • Level: Beginner

:two: Gnome Village: Understanding the BEAM Through Processes, Flows, and Runtime Behaviour

Tutors: Erik Stenman and Måns af Klercker

  • Learn a practical mental model for how the BEAM behaves at runtime - processes as “gnomes,” villages as supervision structures, roads as message flows
  • For Erlang/Elixir developers who know OTP and want to understand the BEAM more deeply
  • Level: Intermediate

:three: Building Production AI Harnesses in Elixir

Tutor: Chris Beck

  • Go from an empty Mix project to a working AI agent “harness”: agent loop, tool registry, OTP-style guardrails, deterministic verification, all wrapped in a supervisor
For intermediate/advanced Elixir/Erlang developers, no ML background required
  • Level: Intermediate

:microphone: 2 DAYS, THREE KEYNOTES (21-22 October, Haarlem & Online)

  • Sam Aaron - Creator of Sonic Pi, proving code can sound like music. Sam will deliver the keynote and perform in the evening at the venue!

  • Brooklyn Zelenka - Founder of Fission, Code & Coffee, BEAM Vancouver, and the Vancouver Functional Programmers meetup.

  • Frank Hunleth - Nerves Co-Author, embedded systems developer and core Nerves team member & Omer Kilic - Embedded Systems and Manufacturing Consultant, taking connected hardware from concept to mass production.

We can’t wait to see you there!

EARLY BIRD pricing is available for a limited-time - register here: Code BEAM Europe .
