Short description

I’m sharing two free and open-source learning resources for Elixir:

  • Elixir Fundamentals
  • Elixir OTP

They are spreadsheet-based Creator Kits designed to generate structured learning activities with AI.

The workflow follows five learning stages:

Practice → Debug → Complete → Refactor → Extend

The kits are not tied to English. To generate lessons in another human language, simply change the language in cell B6.

Using them is straightforward:

  1. Open the spreadsheet.
  2. Set your preferred language in B6.
  3. Select the topic and learning configuration.
  4. Copy the generated prompts from the blue columns.
  5. Paste them into your preferred AI chat.
  6. Work through the generated lesson or exercise.

No installation, compilation, or special platform is required.

Contents

Elixir Fundamentals covers the language foundations: immutability, pattern matching, collections, functions and modules, recursion, Enum/Stream, ExUnit, errors, processes, message passing, and other core Elixir concepts.

Elixir OTP continues into OTP concepts such as applications, GenServer, supervisors, process state, fault tolerance, lifecycle, and resilient BEAM systems.

Here you can see what the results look like.

I’d especially appreciate feedback from Elixir developers on the technical coverage of both kits and the separation between Fundamentals and OTP.

If something important is missing, misplaced, or introduced at the wrong point, I’d be very interested in hearing your suggestions.

Thanks!

How do you setup this? I tried following the exact steps and it really doesn’t make any sense.
ChatGPT just tells me there are inconsistencies with your formula and has some leftover python stuff.
