I saw Sanne speak for the first time at Code BEAM in Stockholm a number of years back. She delivered a very good keynote on the importance less experienced devs in teams. Since then she has done her part in getting speakers for EU conferences and now we are getting her back on stage. Love it!
Andrea Leopardi does not require much introduction. Networking, protocols, author of books, Elixir core team member. I hear he used to work at Apple but I assume he has to deny any knowledge of that. He used to live in Gothenburg and was keen to revisit the swedish west coast. You should too.
NervesConf EU is special to me of course. Big props to Todd Resudek for encouraging me to do it. The one I visited in the US this year was a ton of fun. Smaller event, very focused crowd. I already saw some of the Nerves community in the EU when we gathered people in Berlin. This will be great!
We will have more to share as we get closer. Sign up for the wait list on the site and you won’t miss ticket information, hotel deals and speaker announcement. Hope y’all are as excited as I am
Introducing one who needs no introduction. The one who performed the rites and summoned The Soul of Erlang & Elixir. He who put Elixir in Action for all of us (3rd edition, very recently). The premier source of parenting advice for GenServers and children…?
Goatmire Elixir & NervesConf EU just concluded. You can catch the overall sentiment at #goatmire around Bluesky, Fediverse, LinkedIn. As the organizer I could not have wished for a smoother event. The speakers brought their all. I will certainly write something about it in this weeks Underjord Newsletter and probably on the blog. No firm plans yet. Still landing.
But pictures can be fun. I don’t think you’ve ever seen the Ash Core team quite so snazzy. Sasa looks like an honorary member of Rammstein who is trying to start a new solar system at one point and just lots of glorious shots from the many fantastic presentations. I believe these links should work without a Bluesky account, according to my tests.

Talks are recorded and if all tech has worked correctly we should be able to cut it up and release. At least one talk will not be released to comply with the speaker’s place of work. But overall we expect to release the whole bunch.
It was a theater, speakers were encouraged to go a little wilder, and they did.
The conference was an absolute blast. A lot of the speakers went above and beyond (as you can guess from looking at the gallery). There were immaculate vibes all around, people talking and having fun - including great after parties and dinners. The discord was buzzing. I’ve had more people come up to me and speak to me than ever before at any conference!
I’ve always wished for my community run BEAM conferences and this year we got 2 in Europe which I’m really grateful for.
If you want to see this continue and be part of the next event - you can register interest in another goatmire on the website.
And with that, thanks again to @lawik , Stina and all other organizers and helpers for making it happen. Means a lot!
