I was reading postgres wiki about freebsd and freebsd/aio and it wasn’t clear to me what is better, the same or worse compared to hosting it on linux. i’m not focused on the fine tuning side of it. i was just curious on features of each OS that makes postgres operate better and in which scenarios(just as an example, like beam supports io uring on freebsd but not in linux).
So I was wondering if people here happens to know about good articles comparing or highlighting those elements and with good conclusions around it(reading postgres wiki i felt it was more focused on showing the available options instead of driving conclusions).
