Koo provides a personalised feed to users by letting people select the people they want to follow. The user is then shown content from these people. Users can follow such personalities and follow what they are talking about, and share their opinions too.

Job title: Backend Engineer
Job description: You will be responsible for Architecting, Designing, Development and Maintenance of Complex Core Backend Systems that Integrate with Various Service and Data Providers or Full Stack Web Portals facing Customers and Business Operation Teams with Complex Workflows. You will own New Product Lines, drive large initiatives by Leading / Mentoring other engineers. You work with Product and Business Teams in Arriving at an Optimal Solution. Commitment to Collaborative Problem Solving, Solid Design, And Creating Quality Products Are Essential. Experience in scaling for millions of users is a must. Have the ability to don the hat of a hacker, developer and leader for various use cases and take a lead on complex engineering problems.

Specific Responsibilities include:
• Expertise. We’re looking for engineers with at least 2+ years of relevant experience building highly-scalable distributed systems. You have advanced knowledge of Python, Elixir and knowledge of the following: MySQL, Redis, Kafka, Node, and React/Flux.
• Fast learner. We’re looking for software engineers who thrive on learning new technologies and don’t believe in one-size-fits-all solutions. You should be able to adapt easily to meet the needs of our massive growth and rapidly evolving business environment.
