Rich Hickey - The Language of the System offers a useful perspective on Elixir (and all BEAM languages)
The talk discusses the distinction between a single program and a system consisting of multiple programs.
Throughout the entire first half of the talk I couldn’t stop thinking that BEAM simplifies a lot of the posed system challenges. I was happy to see Rich in the same boat 
I saw this talk mentioned once before on this forum but thought it may be more widely appreciated in the community.
