BattleCityMMO - Browser MMO Trading Card Game
I have been working on this project full time for the past 6 months and am excited to share it with you all. It’s a browser mmo trading card game playable on mobile, tablet, and desktop. I am still working on the trading card game and the story but have made core social mmo features for now.
My tech stack is
- Frontend: Phaser game engine + Typescript
- Backend: Elixir
- Web Framework: Phoenix
- Database: Neon Postgresql
- Deploy: Fly
I made a youtube video for my project I am working on. Give it a watch when you have time : )

My former boss actually introduced me to Elixir first because he was looking into alternative web frameworks for React and found Phoenix. I was naturally curious and the more I learned about Elixir, the more I thought it would b a great backend language for building a browser MMO and the rest is history : )

This is awesome. Looks polished already.
You said in the video you were mostly doing frontend before this. How did Elixir come on your radar rather than say node or something familiar?
good luck!

Sick! I will try it. What other card games were your inspiration? I love slay the spire for instance. ![]()
