Seeking software architecture volunteers for a Chilean NGO

Hi, I’m Fabrizio Retamozo, a volunteer at Iniciativa Aurora. We are an incipient Chilean NGO that aspires to eradicate inefficiency in the administration of organizations and representative mechanisms. We wish to promote horizontal forms of organization that are capable of responding to the current needs of society.

We are currently working on the software that enables the organizational model we propose. This would be intended for the internal organization of the entities and would show the members, resources, responsibilities, contributions made and other things.

If anyone is interested in any kind of voluntary help, we would be more than grateful. Although we are unable to reward you monetarily, we do require the collaboration of a programmer. Any help or advice, no matter how small, has my eternal gratitude.

Hi @KionTheAngel,

Great you reach out to external help to improve the organization. I already develop software for an NGO so I’ll let this one pass.

A few recommendations though:

  • the wished features are vague which makes a effort/time estimation impossible. When you give more details, more developers might respond.
  • is Elixir an requirement? If not, it is better to ask this question on a generic developers board such as DevTalk.
  • Somebody is already working on the software, or so it appears.
    • Is there a repo we can look into?
    • Why is the current development capacity not enough?

Hope these tips help you find a developer.

Hello! Thank you for the recommendations. I’m not a programmer myself, but I’ll bring a more detailed description shortly and the repo, as well.

From my understanding, Elixir is the only requirement. Previous experience is appreciated, but not necessary; my coordinator is open to teach some basics.

Sadly, we are working with volunteers only and everyone has their own work.

This is the repo. The software is named CGP as in Collective Governance Platform!
