Our Business Automation & Tooling (BAT) team uses Elixir to build scalable back-end systems that automate business processes, eliminate repetitive work, and connect internal systems with external tools like Zuora.

Job title: Elixir Backend Developer
Job description:
As part of the Business Automation & Tooling (BAT) team, you’ll build and improve automations that make business processes more efficient. You’ll design backend solutions for onboarding, billing, and integrations, helping us streamline workflows across multiple departments. One of your first major projects will be developing a new financial module in our fulfilment product and implementing workflows using the Zuora API.

You’ll work closely with a Product Owner, UX Designer, and other developers to create maintainable, scalable, and future-proof systems.

Salary range: Competitive salary (including 13th-month bonus, profit-sharing scheme, and pension plan).

Qualifications or experience required:

  • Several years of professional experience as a backend or software developer

  • Experience with Git and willingness to work with Elixir, Zuora, and Vue

  • Strong understanding of maintainable and scalable code architecture

  • Interest in business processes such as finance, support, and data lifecycle management

  • Good command of English (Dutch is a plus)

  • Experience with functional programming is a plus

What the successful job applicant will be working on:

  • Automating repetitive tasks and improving internal workflows

  • Developing and maintaining billing and onboarding modules

  • Integrating internal and third-party systems (e.g. Zuora)

  • Contributing to backend architecture and long-term technical decisions

Position on remote work

Remote job: Partially / Hybrid
Remote restrictions: Candidates must live in the Netherlands
Remote leeway: Occasional remote work is supported; the team meets in Groenlo regularly

About the interview process

Our recruitment process typically consists of:

  1. Application review — We review all applications carefully and respond within 10 working days.

  2. First interview — Introductory conversation with our recruiter and team lead.

  3. Second interview — Technical deep dive with developers from the BAT team.

  4. Assessment — A practical exercise or coding challenge.

  5. Offer — Final offer and onboarding discussion.

A Certificate of Conduct (VOG) will be required upon acceptance of an offer.
